RLMS BAND ROCKS!

Take a look at our Rock Lake Band video...click above!

Welcome! We're here to introduce you to the what could be your most amazing experience in middle school, the Rock Lake Middle School band.

We encourage you to take some time to explore this website to see what we're all about - check out the pictures, listen to the music, find out about our amazing field trips and concerts...and read what our students are saying about being in band. We're confident that you'll see that our BAND ROCKS and we're hoping you'll be a part of it when you come to RLMS.

Our students are passionate about their instruments!

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play the saxophone because it's awesome."

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play the trombone because it is a fun instrument to play. It is great to be part of the low sounds in the band."

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play the Alto sax because you can have fun solos, you can play fun songs, and its basically the most fun and easy to learn instrument out there."

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play the bass clarinet because it is easier than some of the other instruments."

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play the trumpet because the trumpet section is the coolest section and we get many of the cool parts in songs."

"You should play the trumpet because its a very rewarding instrument. you really need to be determined to play it. "

"On the trumpet you need to use your lips and your diaphragm and your mind. the trumpet is a very demanding instrument. so for all you future trumpet players I salute you !"

"I would recommend playing the baritone because not only do we get to play the back part of the music, there aren't a lot of baritone players out there, and the baritone are definitely the best instrument to play."

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play percussion because it's fun, cool and chicks dig drummers."

"Trombone and trumpet are fairly easy to learn and if you hear well and have a strong breath capacity tuba and French horn would be good for you."

"We need (at Brantley) baritones, oboes and bassoons--all three get the melody in a lot of songs are very beautiful sounding instruments when played well."

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play the clarinet because I think the clarinet it the easiest instrument to learn."

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play clarinet because it is very easy to play and carry to school."

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play the clarinet because it is very similar to the recorder, but the fingering and notes are just slightly different. Also, if you play the clarinet, in most songs, you will have the melody or harmony. There are also more people in the clarinet section, so you are going to make band buddies!"

"I would recommend that you consider learning to play oboe because not many people play the oboe so you are almost certain to get first or second chair, and you have a good chance at getting a scholarships for playing the oboe if you stick with it."
